My Story…

In September of 2023, I met Zelda, my watercolor teacher, and thanks to her, I learned how to handle a paint brush, wrangle this wet medium, and see my subjects for what they really are - shapes, colors, lines and light.

I exhibit in the real world when I can, but mostly I just paint for myself, my family and friends. I began to sell originals and prints when my IG posts were noticed (yay!), so I decided it was time to set up a website, like a real adult. If you want to see my IG posts, reels and stories, the link is at the bottom of this page.

Are you still reading? Then you might want to know I retired in 2023 from a tremendously gratifying teaching career. I miss the kids and the colleagues, but not the alarm clock.

My actual name is Nancy Aranda, but my “art persona” is Mrs. Aranda because that’s how my students and their families know me, and I want them to be able to find me. So far, it’s working!
